GRACE ROOM MINISTRIES PROVIDES SCHOOL UNIFORMS TO 609 STUDENTS

Grace Room Ministries has provided school uniforms to 609 students from GS Remera and shared a nutritious lunch with students, teachers, parents and residents of Remera sector.

This event took place on February 1, 2025 as we celebrated Heroes’ Day. The event was graced by several government officials, including the Vice President of the Senate, the vice mayor of the City of Kigali, representatives from Rwanda Defense Force and Police, other local leaders, teachers, parents, residents and many others. Their presence highlighted the significance of such charitable efforts on the broader community.

GS Remera, founded in 2016, serves a student population of 609, the majority of whom come from underprivileged families. Of these, 470 are enrolled in primary school, while 149 are in lower secondary (Ordinary Level). Given the financial struggles faced by many families, the support from Grace Room Ministries is making a meaningful difference in the lives of these students.

Pastor Julienne Kabanda, the Founder and Lead Pastor of Grace Room Ministries, emphasized that the project was designed to support children from underprivileged backgrounds while fostering a sense of heroism at a young age. She noted that conducting the project on Heroes’ Day was intentional, as it aimed to inspire children to develop qualities of resilience and leadership. She further highlighted that Grace Room Ministries is built on a foundation of spreading the gospel alongside acts of compassion, stating, “The Word of God teaches us to do such acts because God is love. As Grace Room Ministries, we prioritize these projects and firmly believe that this is what Christ desires from us.”

The principal of the School of GS Remera, Ms. Mugorerwera Adrienne, expressed deep gratitude for the ministry’s generosity. She acknowledged the positive impact the initiative has had on students, stating, “Grace Room Ministries has helped our children by clothing them and feeding them. They still have more projects in store for us, and we are very pleased to have such a partner, whom we hope to continue working with.”

Similarly, the Vice Mayor of Kigali City, Urujeni Martine, commended the ministry for its efforts, stating that this is a heroic act that contributes to national development. She emphasized that providing educational support to students strengthens the country’s future by ensuring access to quality education. She further encouraged local citizens and others to take inspiration from this initiative and engage in similar acts of generosity, as they play a crucial role in fostering progress within communities.

This initiative has taken about 11 million RWF and plans to provide Breakfast for students to help improve their learning conditions and overall well-being. Parents of the students have expressed their appreciation, noting that many children previously attended school in worn-out clothing. They now believe that this support will help improve their children’s education and self-esteem.

Grace Room Ministries is actively involved in social initiatives aimed at transforming lives. These include empowering children and youth, helping young people overcome drug and alcohol addiction, and supporting underprivileged families. Through these efforts, Grace Room Ministries continues to embody the spirit of faith in action, demonstrating that love and generosity are powerful tools for uplifting communities.
